  1. Technology has come such a long way to the point that we can stream lectures from the comforts of our home in a convenient way. Many schools and colleges are embracing technology and going digital so that they can relate more to the new generation of students, and have a broader reach. Harvard University, for example, has online courses taught by Harvard faculty which are open to the public. Although these lectures do not earn students credit, the allow them to gain a wealth of understanding from anywhere in the world.

  2. I say that technology, while very beneficial, has led to the complacency in attitude of many. Being able to stream classes online encourages passive learning and it also isolates people. I read an article about two ladies who met for lunch but aside from pleasantries had no real conversation because they were immersed in their cell phone. Due to technology daily personal interaction is slowly dying off and people are becoming more socially awkward.

  3. I agree with Vidura! While technology has done a lot to drive the overall convenience of users, the level of ease that has resulted from advancements in technology have contributed to an overwhelming sense of complacency in these users' approach to assignments. It has also contributed to the continued decline in interpersonal interaction. This decline is quite noticeably seen in the shift in the all-around collegiate structure, which transitioned from hands-on engagement to intercontinental online programs. Because of these changes, the social skills of many people have been adversely affected. It is now left to individuals to take the initiative toward developing these skills because even as technology advances, the ability to interact on the social stage will always be an invaluable skill.

  4. Online classes are the way of the future. For students like myself who also work, this element of the course is an actual lifesaver. I also dont notice any difference in the way I retain the information. I get the lesson as if I was in the classroom.

  5. The class on air was very decent. I was very intrigued how it actually worked.

  6. The class proved to be standard like most classes streamed online. The separation of the visual and the audio with the phone made it easier to hear without the constant lag like on the ustream, but it did create some difficulty in that it caused some confusion and did not in fact register attendance via call-in. Still worked very well overall.
