  1. It's fascinating to see the exponential growth the internet has faced over the past decade. As the internet has grown and the possibility to do new things has expanded, dialup and broadband internet infrastructure have not been able to keep up, leaving a lag on consumer innovation -- Google Fiber aims to fix this.

    Google Fiber is a new fiber optic system that Google has started to roll out in Kansas City, MI. Fiber has a connection speed 100 times faster than today's broadband and promises to give consumers of internet content a much better experience. Google has promised to wire schools, libraries and other public institutions free of charge, as a sign of good faith, if consumers adopt the technology in neighborhoods surrounding those institutions.
