Apple OS - Excel 2011

Monday October 29, 2012 Class

On Monday we discussed telecommunications moving to the cloud, using VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol).

1) PBX  - A PBX (private branch exchange) is a telephone system within an enterprise that switches calls between employees. Its a phone system that connects incoming calls to internal company extensions.

PBX systems are moving to the cloud. These web sites, like http://www.ringcentral.com allow companies to reduce costs, offer more services and allow easy flexibility.

2) FAX - Fax-based web sites now provide fax numbers to companies. These sites collect incoming faxes and email them to the company. For outgoing faxes, the document is scanned and the emailed or faxed.

3) Park My Phone numbers - You can take your phone numbers and turn them into automatic forwarding numbers. This will allow you to keep important numbers, especially business phone numbers and forward them to new phones at different locations.

4) Voice Mail - We looked at http://www.youmail.com

The Electronic Fence

BY: Shea Martin

Technology is a wonderful thing; it allows us to do everything we are used to doing but much more efficiently. The most significant thing that technological advancements have provided us with is privacy. In today’s society everyone can live in their own “gated community”. This can be a good thing but can also be looked at as a negative thing.

Privacy through technology is a good thing in the aspect that sometimes you just need to get away from certain people. There are many things that will help you to keep your distance. On a lot of smart phones there are apps that will allow you to block a person’s phone calls and/or text messages. During class on Monday Professor Sistrunk showed us a great phone voicemail system. This service will allow you to save all voicemails and listen to any one single message at anytime. The service also allowed you to block calls through an assortment of ways.

The service also will show you all of the caller’s information. This is one of the best examples of the “electronic fence” because this service truly keeps people you want out, out.
The reason I believe that this “electronic fence” can be viewed as a negative thing is because you might never really know who you are talking to. You may never really know how anyone feels about you. Just like a fence in real life the “electronic fence” allows people to hide behind something while they attempt to tell you what they need to.

Microsoft OS 8

BY: Lucien Kidd

The new OS is set in place to be launched in the United States on November 02, 2012
Microsoft has released the new Windows Phone 8 operating system, which is for the smartphone OS, and to compete with Apple's iOS and the Google's Android.
The new OS will feature company's Internet Explorer 10 which claimed to offer faster browsing, as well as offer integration with video chat app Skype. The entire purpose is to Build a full-blown computer OS that runs on thin machines and plays well with fingers; Microsoft is taking this opportunity to bring Windows more closely to the Internet, tie in social networking, and allow apps themselves to function together on the phone, whether on the computer or in the cloud.
Sharing the same user interface and technology core with Windows 8 for tablets and PCs, the new smartphone software features a Start screen in the form of square tiles which Microsoft calls “Live Tiles.” They are capable of displaying real-time information. Windows 8 doesn't just feature Facebook and LinkedIn contacts in its contacts, it allows you to anchor people on your Start screen, see status updates and share across multiple social networks from all over the OS. When it comes to photos, Microsoft has integrated Facebook and Flickr at the core, letting you see images stored on your accounts, other peoples' accounts, and up on your own SkyDrive cloud storage account, along with your local photos. The focus is on looking at pictures, which is vastly different than Apple's IPhoto, which at its heart is a photo management system. Evidence of this is the facts that while it can upload to Facebook, it won't show you anything else that's up on Facebook.
The OS allows personalization of the Start screen by pinning their favorite items that include application and photos, as well as select from three sizes and 20 colors for square tiles.
Microsoft claims that the new OS will facilitate developers to develop applications for both platforms including OS for PCs and for smart phones, as well as allows users to run similar programs across diverse devices.
Windows Phone 8 will also support other hardware specifications that include multi-core processors and near-field communication (NFC).
The new OS also features Live Apps, Top apps, Kid's Corner, data sense, wallet communications and always-on, premium Skype experience.
Following the launch of new OS, Nokia, Samsung and HTC have released their Smartphone powered by the new OS and are expected to be on sale through major mobile carriers in the US including Verizon Wireless, AT&T and T-Mobile in the coming weeks, with scheduled European sales this week.
See the Link below for a preview of the New Windows Phone 8 OS operating system.

Twitter: A Help or a Hurt?

By: Brandon Lowe

Many of today’s youth and young adults use their cell phones for almost everything now a days. Cell phones are not just used for phone calls any more but also as calculators, devices to find out about news, a way to keep up with friends without and other many other tasks. One of the main things that cell phones allow us to do is view social sites such as Facebook, pinterest and one of the most popular sites, Twitter. Twitter allows you to communicate to your friends among other twitter users and keep up to date with current trends and news topics around the world. It has become a more personal and popular version of Facebook.

Twitter can be a great social site for users, but also a way to voice harmful opinions about others and different social topics. Sometimes users can get into heated online verbal altercations and you can find many tweets of slander. There have been recent cases of people taking a twitter arguments and tweets made by users too far which have led to physical altercations and sometimes shootings. Also, twitter users sometimes tweet their locations which leads to people finding their whereabouts which can lead to possible stalking or unwanted encounters. Sometimes a twitter user tweets certain things that leads self-incrimination such as pictures of banned or illegal items or just a tweet of them saying they are doing something illegal.

I personally like twitter and believe that if you practice proper online etiquette, you can use the website to it’s full potential. I can honestly admit I’m not a person who watches CNN on a daily basis or even the news at that, but the trends tab on twitter keeps me up to date of things that are happening around me. Twitter also is a great way for me to check on friends who do not attend my college institution and also a great way to promote events and social gatherings. I believe that twitter is more of a help than a hurt if users just practice smart and safe online etiquette and use twitter for the right reasons.

Here’s some links on the impact of twitter in certain situations.

Predecessors to Text Messaging

By: Anthony Kinsey

In class, we discussed how text messaging has changed the landscape for the way that people do business. We noted that lately companies have been using text messages to effectively get to their consumer so that they can capitalize on the latest communication trend. Here is an old video when texting was just becoming popular in 2008:

A personal story: My dad used to work for Ameritech back in the late 90s/ early 2000s so my family has always been at the forefront of telecommunication developments. I remember when cellphones started becoming more prevalent then pagers. Looking back, pagers seem so inefficient and pointless comparative to text messaging on a cellpone. A pager has no way to communicate back to the person that sent you the page other than calling them on some landline phone. Here is an article from E-How that talks about the development of the mobile phone:

Prior to talking about the death of pagers and the rise of text messaging, I believe it is important to explore an intermediary that seemed to be a fusion of the two. Motorola, one of the companies that originally made the pager developed what I believe to be the base of text messaging with the ability to “chirp.” Chirping was reminiscent of a walkie talkie phone but it allowed users to quickly communicate with people on the other line without actually talking on the phone. This method of instant communication was dubbed push to talk on motorola phones. In 2003 it was the standard method of quick communication for people with Motorola phones. It was not until 2005 that the texting frenzy began to take off. I believe that this idea of PTT or push to talk was a better version of the pager yet it was eventually overriden by the text message. Here goes a commercial promoting the software popularized by motorola and nextel.

Google vs. Apple

By Marques Dotts

In class we recently discussed how Google and Apple are the two powerhouses of the technology world. They are each other’s biggest competitors, but it was not always so. Less than seven years ago Google was just a search engine and had no direct interference with the Apple market. Then Google’s software engineers came up with the android system and it took the mobile world by storm. So much so that it sells of android products surpassed Apple’s in 2010 and Apple has yet to recover the lead.

There are many differences between the two companies. Apple makes its own hardware, software, and they both run on a locked system which does not allow outside adjustments to the product. Apple only allows apps from its approved App store. Apple sells its handsets to mobile companies and does not lease its software. Whereas Google does not make any of its android hardware products, it leases the android software to any and every hardware company that wants it. With that open software, phone companies are allowed to change the product however they want, which is how you have so many products that say “Introducing the new Yada Yada powered by Android Systems”. Anyone can create an app and upload it to the Android market whereas the process of getting into the Apple Store. Apple’s systems are closed and Google’s are the opposite.

Here’s a link to discussion about the competition on cnet, a top tech reviewer:

Recently the rift became larger. For a number of years Google Maps and Youtube were a featured app on all Apple products but with the new update they were no longer present. Apple has introduced its Apple Maps, which is the laughing stock of the app community. It’s a poor substitute for Google’s years of manual labor to collect the millions of miles of data.

The CEO actually apologized for the product.

Here’s a link to Apple’s CEO apologizing for Apple Maps:

These are just a few things that heat up the war between the two and it is just getting bigger.

Apple Reveals the Ipad Mini

By: Clarence Kendell Johnson
Apple execs have finally unveiled an new ipad at an event in
California called the iPad mini. The new $329 product is meant to
compete with smaller, 7-inch tablets from competing companies such as
Google and Amazon who are right behind Apple in sales and innovation.
The new iPad has the same capabilities as the newest generation iPad
just in a smaller size and price to attract a lower tax bracketed
market.

They also revealed a new 13-inch MacBook Pro that he said is said to
be 20 percent thinner than the previous generation, and a pound
lighter. The new laptop features a 2.5-GHz Intel processor, a
high-resolution Retina display with over 4 million pixels, and a
solid-state drive rather than a spinning disk.

In my opinion, Apple is losing its competitive edge when it comes to
being the innovators in technology and electronics. In a few years, I
feel that good will surpass apple when it comes to new technologies
and advancements.  The Iphone 5 had very few improvements as appose to
what it usually does when they release the new generation of phones.
There are honestly no products they are releasing that surpass the
last generation of products they have released, or that are better
than any other products that their competition is releasing. What your
opinions? Will Apple stay on top or is their a possibility that they
can be passed in the near future.

Homework #6 - Part 2 - Google Fusion Tables

In reviewing Homework #6 in class on Monday, I decided to add some additional assistance in this post.

Excel Formula concatenate

I used this formula to create the locational data (full address) in one cell. Below is a video going over this function and how to use it.

In using Google Fusion Tables, I realized they have updated the menu and look of Google Fusion Tables. I recommend you use the classic (older version) because the videos I referenced, used the classic view. Below are screen shots of both views and how to move to the classic view.

Homework #6 - Google Fusion Tables

This Homework #6 is due Sunday Oct 28, 2012 at midnight. AS always, its late after midnight and 10 points are taken off.

This assignment is to take your data from Homework #4 & #5 and upload it to google. You will need a google account (Gmail, Drive, Blogger or other). Any account should work. Once yoiu have one google account, you can add other services.

Google fusion tables are on Google Drive. If you do not have a google account, sign up for free, for google drive.

Below is a video on Google Drive and how it works

What is Google Fusion Tables?
It allows you to visualize data in a map format instead of a table or chart format.

You can upload excel data with locational information (Lat/Long, addresses, city and etc.). Once you upload this spreadsheet, you can map each row (record or transaction) to google map. It allows you to show your data in a map format. Google will map each row. Once mapped, you can use the informational data about each row (the columns) to highlight what is important.

For example, your data has addresses. You can map each address and show them on a google map. The you can change to color of each dot based on other information in the spreadsheet, like sales price.

See an example here.
From Menu click Visualize:Map

Here is a youtube tutorial example

Googlevolution

By: Shedric Hobbs

In class, Dr. Oscar Sistrunk constantly mentions the Internet. In fact almost all of our activities and assignments have required us to use the Internet. We use it to check our grades, read our blog posts, and turn in our assignments. One of the most prominent companies on the Internet is Google. Over the last 17 years, Google has many ideas including the search engine, Google+, and coming soon, the Google glasses.

Google Inc.’s first idea was the search engine. Originally named BackRub, this search engine was operated on the Stanford University servers for over a year until it took up too much bandwidth. The name change from BackRub to Google was a play on the word “googol”, which is 1x10100, or 1 and 100 zeroes after. The goal was to seem infinite--having an organized infinite supply of information on the web. According to PC Magazine, “if the Internet was a galaxy, Google became the black hole at its center: all of its information was inevitably sucked in, and the traffic and attention generated a technical sort of gravity, forcing its rivals to react, and, over time, orbit it.”

In June 2011 Google launched a new project, Google+. Google+ was designed as a social networking site. Unlike its predecessors Facebook and Twitter, Google+ is made to share information with specific groups of people and not necessarily everyone. According to Earth Android, Google+ has 170 million users in its ten months of existence.

Coming soon to America, Google will release the Google Glasses. Some of the features include a camera, a schedule, and navigation. These glasses also allow you to find who else is near you at any time. They also cost over $1000, so a person who wants the glasses should start saving.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSnB06um5r4

Google has in many ways impacted our lives. Over 70 percent of consumers use Google as a search engine according to Brafton.com. Google+ users are also growing at a fast rate of 17 million users per month. The Google Glasses are set to revolutionize technology, if a person can afford them. Google has had a strong presence in society and plans to remain around for years to come.

The Evolution of Text Messaging

By Jonathan Hamer

Today in class a large portion of our discussion had to do with how large communication through text messaging has become in the recent history. One thing that we discussed was how business can really benefit and improve production from text messaging.

An example of this is how business can get a large list of phone numbers and send out important text messages informing customers when new products and or services will be released. An article that I read from the Britannica Blog talked about how at one point in time society thought that the invention of telephones and televisions would remove the need for writing as a whole. However, little did they know things such as cell phones increased writing and “text messaging” by an outrageous amount.

Homework #5 - Pivot Tables

One of the best Excel uses in analyzing large amount of data is Pivot Tables.

This Homework is due Sunday October 21, 2012 at midnight. Remember its 10 point (10% off ), if submitted after midnight.

Use you Excel data from Homework #4 and create two different Pivot tables. Pivot Tables allow you to condense data and look at that data in different ways.

Below are some Videos to help you learn how to use Pivot Tables. Both Windows (Excel 2010) and Apple (Excel 2011). To learn more go to youtube and search for pivot tables tutorial.

It Starts With You

By: Maurice Goins

The relevance of an individual’s personal presence is imperative now more than ever. With this generation’s wave of social media sites the potential to permanently discredit ones’ self is immense. It is extremely important to hold one’s self in high esteem and to uphold some sort of moral standing in order to progress ones network and interpersonal skills due to the ability to relate and find common ground with unfamiliar situations. Though, according to Deepak Chopra’s Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, an outside opinion of an individual is none of that individual’s business and, therefore, inconsequential, we must maintain a positive public image in order to continue to thrive and grow in any realm. Below, a link of excerpts from Chopra’s audio book has been provided.

In doing this, we assert that we are optimistic about the things to come and, though ones opinion may not necessarily matter, we at least listen and take heed of the message given. If irrelevant or negative- completely disregard. Nonetheless, preserving a positive image and outlook will undoubtedly be absorbed by those around you and hopefully promote a positive moral fiber which would certainly be absorbed or, at the least acknowledged as well. The more individuals that take the initiative to do right under consistent basis and regard others in as high esteem as they themselves would like to be perceived, than more persons would themselves pay those mannerisms and actions to another, ultimately creating a chain reaction, uplifting an entire community and, eventually, the world. Mimi Leder’s Pay it Forward embodied this concept:

If we could instill this belief in just three people, we could change their lives exponentially. To give back to the extent that it is life changing for someone must be a life changing experience in and of itself. We must dare ourselves to lead the progression of a new forward thinking generation of enlightened persons who challenge one another to be great and collaborate together towards the betterment of one another. The 1989 classic Lean on Me is a perfect example of the promotion of unity and brotherhood, despite Mr. Freeman’s unorthodox methods.

So I now challenge you, my fellow students. Truly examine the strength of your intrapersonal skills and interpersonal dealings with others and question if they could not be better. Question if you could not assist another just as easily as you choose not to assist them. If the answer is yes, put forth the extra effort to potentially enrich the lives of others. I guarantee you to realize the ultimate enriching of your own life in addition to the irreplaceable experience and wisdom you would have taken from your dealings as well.

Social Media in Business

By: Cornell England

With the recent introduction of the new Apple iPhone 5 and many other innovations lately, the presence of technology in society is increasing faster than ever. More importantly, social media is becoming apart of our everyday lives, especially in the workplace. Social media is now becoming a tool used by many businesses to increase marketing and global competition. Businesses become prevalent to the younger market of individuals who use social media sites on a daily basis. Here is a link to an article by Farrell Kramer highlighting some of the statistical advantages to businesses incorporating social media:

Professors are also utilizing social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube as well. We are all familiar with our Leadership and Professional Development course, taught here at Morehouse. Dr. Belinda White uses Twitter frequently to announce upcoming assignments and activities for the course. Our very own, Dr. Sistrunk uses media sites, such as YouTube, to incorporate course curriculum and had the opportunity to be a contestant on a piloting game show based on contestants competing from home through a video channeling site, such as Skype. This YouTube video shows the revolution of social media in our changing business world:

In order to becoming a more marketable individual entering the work force in the next few years, it is important that we stay up-to-date with new innovations in social media. That also means realizing the down side of this revolution. It is vital that we always use discretion when posting things to our personal Twitters, Facebook pages, and blog sites. Most business now screen newly hired employees by checking their social media sites. Although, social media has endless advantages, it is important to use caution in this revolutionizing tool that is slowly transforming our private lives into a more public generation of the World Wide Web.

The Importance of Community Service in the College Community

By: Mr. Harris

Community Service is very important in the college community because students can make a huge impact on their peers, the youth, and most importantly society. Nothing can compare to the peaceful feeling of giving back to the community. In many cases, the rigorous work that comes with the college life can sometimes blind students; making them think that they do not have the time, however, community service is a benefit to the college community. It is a benefit to the college community because it gives students time to get away from the norms of college life, to network, and build relationships. Community service gives the college student a chance to make an impact on the life of a child who might be in need of a positive influence.

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZaBHgj6jYE

Many students do not realize that their one-day in classroom with a minor can change the life of that child forever, especially in the African American community. Many African American children, especially males, are in dyer need of a positive influence. With so much negative energy in their daily environment it is vital that they have someone to look up to that views life in a different light. It is critical that someone attempts to get them to analyze things from another perspective. Every second a college student serves in the community can potentially change or save a life. There are so many ways to give back to the community and believe it or not, the community will give back to you in return. One of the best benefits of community service is networking opportunities. You never who you may meet while serving and most importantly, you never know who you are serving.

Sneaker Craze

By Brian Freeman II

With the rapid growth of demand and diversity in the fashion world, there has been proportionate growth in the publicity and buzz placed on sneaker releases. From Air Jordan's to Air Yeezy's, people are caught waiting in lines all across the nation for days at a time. Camping outside of stores for exclusive sneakers may seem to be extreme, but some of these crazed sneaker heads take it to a whole new level. Watch here as police have to patrol lines to prevent stabbings and robberies. Check this video out.

Nike and Air Jordan Brand come out with the same sneakers every couple of years. in spite of the lack of new material, somehow the shoes uphold high levels of demand. The sneakers have undeniable value in the streets, which explains the never-ending lines and the need for crime prevention at major releases. The question is, why do people want to risk getting hurt or potentially not getting a pair of sneakers while waiting in line?

Does Michael Jordan actually care about the safety of his fans or does he just care about the money he is receiving?

Saving a dollar a day keeps the creditors at bay

By: Ebrima Francis

When someone first starts to save they might wonder, “How much is enough to save,” and that’s where budgeting comes into play. In class last week, Mr. Sistrunk discussed budgeting and how a student should understand the pertinence of the effective money management. One important expense people tend to forget is, saving. Saving money or “the saving habit” as Napoleon Hill put it so many years ago, is the foundation of all financial success, including investing. Having money saved provides the means for you to take advantage of situations, whether it's going back to college, starting a new business, having an emergency fund or buying shares of stock when the market plunges. Saving money is hard-work, but are you willing to put in time to be financially free? No one said it was going to be easy; it is all about delayed gratification not instant gratification.
Ten tips on saving money:
  1. Kill your debt first. Simply calculating how much you spend each month on your debts will illustrate that eliminating debt is the fastest way to free up money. Once the money is freed from debt payment, it can easily be re-purposed to savings. Plus, the sooner you pay off debt, the less interest you'll pay, and that money can be saved instead.
  2. Set savings goals. For short-term goals, this is easy. If you want to buy a video game, find out how much it costs; if you want to buy a house, determine how much of a down payment you’ll need. For long-term goals, such as retirement, you’ll need to do a lot more planning (figuring out how much money you’ll need to live comfortably for 20 or 30 years after you stop working), and you’ll also need to figure out how investments will help you achieve your goals.
  1. Figure out how much you’ll have to save per week, per month, or per paycheck to attain each of your savings goals. Take each thing you want to save for and figure out how much you need to start saving now. For most savings goals, it’s best to save the same amount each period. For example, if you want to put a $20,000 down payment on a home in 36 months (three years), you’ll need to save about $550 per month every month. But if your paychecks amount to $1000, it might not be a realistic goal, so adjust your time-frame until you come up with an approachable amount.
  1. Keep a record of your expenses. What you save falls between two activities and their difference: how much you make and how much you spend. Since you have more control over how much you spend, it's wise to take a critical look at your expenses. Write down everything you spend your money on for a couple weeks or a month. Be as detailed as possible, and try not to leave out small purchases. Assign each purchase or expenditure a category such as: Rent, Car insurance, Car payments, Phone Bill, Cable Bill, Utilities, Gas, Food, Entertainment, etc.

  1. Trim your expenses. Take a good, hard look at your spending records after a month or two have passed. You’ll probably be surprised when you look back at your record of expenses: $30 on ice cream, $10 on parking tickets? You’ll likely see some obvious cuts you can make. Depending on how much you need to save, however, you may need to make some difficult decisions. Think about your priorities, and make cuts you can live with. Calculate how much those cuts will save you per year, and you'll be much more motivated to pinch pennies.

  1. Reassess your savings goals. Subtract your expenses (the ones you can't live without) from your take-home income (i.e. after taxes have been taken out). What is the difference? And does it match up with your savings goals? Let's say you've decided you can definitely get by on $150 per month, and your paychecks amount to $230 per month. That leaves you with $80 to save. If there’s absolutely no way you can fit all your savings goals into your budget, take a look at what you’re saving for and cut the less important things or adjust the time-frame. Maybe you need to put off buying a new car for another year, or maybe you don’t really need a big-screen TV that badly.

  1. Make a budget. Once you’ve managed to balance your earnings with your savings goals and spending, write down a budget so you’ll know each month or each paycheck how much you can spend on any given thing or category of things. This is especially important for expenses which tend to fluctuate, or which you know you're going to have a particularly hard time restricting. (E.g. "I will only spend $30 a month on movies/chocolate/coffee/etc.")

  1. Open an interest-bearing savings account. It’s a lot easier to keep track of your savings if you have them separate from your spending money. You can also usually get better interest on savings accounts than on checking accounts (if you get interest on your checking account at all). Consider higher-interest options such as CDs or money-market accounts for longer savings goals.

  1. Pay yourself first. Savings should be your priority, so don’t just say that you’ll save whatever is left over at the end of the month. Deposit savings into an account (or your piggy-bank) as soon as you get paid. An easy, effective way to start saving is to simply deposit 10% of every check in a savings account. If you get a check or sum of cash, say 710.68, move the decimal point one place to the left and deposit that amount: 71.07. This works well and requires little thought; over several years, you've a tidy sum in savings.

  1. Don't get discouraged and don't give up. You may not think you can become wealthy but to become a millionaire is possible if you set up an aggressive savings plan and stick to it. You may be surprised how much money you can put away for something far more enjoyable than what you could buy with short term savings. Good things often take time and the longer you save the more interest you will be making on your savings as well

The assignment is to download data into excel and create a table. Create three sheets in your file. Copy the downloaded data into each sheet (same data). Create the data in each sheet into a table. So you will have three tables with the same data in each table.

Ways to help your Refund Last

By: Kenneth Edwards

Refunds have just arrived at Morehouse College, and students are already complaining that they are broke. Year after year students tend to deplete there refund in less than a week. Students must get a grip on their budgeting and look for ways to help expand their income overtime. Below are four things that can help conserve money in the hands of college students.
Determining wants from needs-Refunds come around and people have depleted their whole refund in a matter of 48hrs and lack the funds to pay their rent. Why? Because, they did not take the time to determine if the money they were using was going toward a want or need. Take time to weigh out the pros and cons of each transaction. Ask yourself, how will this benefit me in the future? Why do I need this? Remember easy come easy go! If determining wants and needs are to difficult the website below should prove to be helpful.

Be Cognoscente of Expenditures
-For most students their money is chip away at by small food expenses and other petty buys. Eventually these buys do at up, outweighing the larger purchases. t. Failure to plan is a plan to fail. Here is a budget template design for the average college student.

Don’t Forget About Discounts-. Purchasing power creates a huge problem for college students. Since students have this money they are unaccustomed to having, students tend to be eager and more careless to get rid of it. With increase purchasing power students seem to ignore the good deal, and are more acceptable to paying full price for items. Do not forget you are in college and still on a fix income. There are plenty of places that still give out student discounts with the presents of and College ID. Even now there are smartphones that have apps for coupons to use for certain stores. Website below is a list of several apps per smartphone with coupons.

Set Aside Money- Saving proves to be a great safety net for students to not spend all their money quickly as well as helping to prepare for unforeseen or future expenditures. Saving really is the best choice when it comes to budgeting.
